The Electrically Controlled Flame Synthesis of Oxide Nanop article

Zhuang Qingping

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 2,   Pages 74-78

Abstract:

For precise control of the nanophase powder characteristics, electrically assisted hydrocarbon flames using electrodes have shown quite effective, either by ion or electron attachment, so the coagulation rate of the particles is reduced, as unipolarly charged particles repel each other. Charged particles are also attracted towards electrodes, thus lowering the local particle concentration and therefore the collision rate. The flame structure, height, and temperature are also altered by the electric field, which can significantly influence the particle residence time at high temperatures and therefore affect particle growth or sintering and crystallinity. It was shown that field generated by the electrodes across the flame decreases the particle residence time in the high temperature region of the flame.

Size-controllable synthesis of monodispersed nitrogen-doped carbon nanospheres from polydopamine for

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2023, Volume 17, Issue 11,   Pages 1788-1800 doi: 10.1007/s11705-023-2326-8

Abstract: Monodispersed nitrogen-doped carbon nanospheres with tunable particle size (100–230 nm) were synthesized via self-polymerization of biochemical dopamine in the presence of hexamethylenetetramine as a buffer and F127 as a size controlling agent. Hexamethylenetetramine can mildly release NH3, which in turn initiates the polymerization reaction of dopamine. The carbon nanospheres obtained exhibited a significant energy storage capability of 265 F·g–1 at 0.5 A·g–1 and high-rate performance of 82% in 6 mol·L–1 KOH (20 A·g–1), which could be attributed to the presence of abundant micro-mesoporous structure, doped nitrogen functional groups and the small particle size. Moreover, the fabricated symmetric supercapacitor device displayed a high stability of 94% after 5000 cycles, revealing the considerable potential of carbon nanospheres as electrode materials for energy storage.

Facile controlled synthesis of hierarchically structured mesoporous Li4Ti5O12/C/rGO composites as high-performance

Frontiers in Energy 2022, Volume 16, Issue 4,   Pages 607-612 doi: 10.1007/s11708-021-0798-0

Abstract: In this paper, a facile strategy is proposed to controllably synthesize mesoporous Li4Ti5O12/C nanocomposite embedded in graphene matrix as lithium-ion battery anode via the co-assembly of Li4Ti5O12 (LTO) precursor, GO, and phenolic resin. The obtained composites, which consists of a LTO core, a phenolic-resin-based carbon shell, and a porous frame constructed by rGO, can be denoted as LTO/C/rGO and presents a hierarchical structure. Owing to the advantages of the hierarchical structure, including a high surface area and a high electric conductivity, the mesoporous LTO/C/rGO composite exhibits a greatly improved rate capability as the anode material in contrast to the conventional LTO electrode.
